Determination: The key to Succeed in Life by Emeke Nwaoboli

Golden Minds Nigeria

From my observation and research, I have discovered that determination is the key to success. Determination is like climbing a ladder that people say has no end. It is taking risk and
dearing to do what people say is impossible.

DETERMINATION IS THE VOICE THAT TELLS YOU, ”THE IMPOSSIBLE IS POSSIBLE”.

Psychologist and philosopher William James said, ”Perhaps the greatest discovery of this country is that if you change your attitude, you can change your life”. To buttress his point I advice you, murder the fear in you. Crucify the ”i can’t” profession for with God and your determination, the impossible becomes possible.

You are a carrier of success. You have the gene of Jesus, so you automatically have inherited success. Jesus never fails, and since you’ve his gene, doesn’t it mean you will succeed? MANY PEOPLE FAIL AND DISCARD THEIR PROSPERITY UNKNOWN TO THEM THAT SUCCESS USUALLY COMES DRESSED…

Diamond inspiration

Loneliness(not singleness) can kill. You don’t smile, you don’t associate with people, you keep thinking of your problems alone…my dear it will lead you to an early grave. LONELINESS KILLS PHYSIOLOGICALLY, PHYSICALLY AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY.

There are many reasons to be happy in life. So, DON’T TAKE LIFE TOO SERIOUS ‘COS IT’S NOT AS IF YOU WILL GET OUT OF IT ALIVE.

Life is too small for you to have big problems. When life gives you a thousand reason to cry, give life a million reason to smile. Let me tell you something, I BELIEVE YOU CAN SUCCEED AND BE WHAT YOU WISH TO BE IN LIFE EVEN IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

Criminals in Uniform

Criminals in uniform,
Legal practitioners of evil.
Men that ought to respect the law,
Suckling our economy with their uniform of deceit.

Criminals in uniform,
The political elites of doom.
Promising heaven and earth,
Harvesting the fruits they did not sow.

Criminals in Uniform,
Men on khaki during the day,
But on angry mask at night
Looting and killing innocent souls all in the name of protecting us.

Criminals in Uniform,
They undertake on contracts we never see
Making budgets that never come to pass
Stealing our money with bloody pen.

Criminals in uniform,
Ambassadors of poverty.
Sitting over our political affairs,
Leading our Nation in reverse order.

Criminals in uniform,
Incompetent men congratulated for their sweet evils,
men with selfish interests,
Only saving for their generations unborn.

Criminals in uniform,
Holy murderers of dreams,
Greedy heads of departments
Hovering around in pretence.

Criminals in uniform,
Those who do evil in legal ways.
Criminals in uniform,
Those whom God will soon purnish.

ESCAPE FROM DEATH (a poem)

Yesternight,
My heart tucked in my soul
Beating faster than the drums of the witches
Dancing in fear, no where to hide.

Many boys clustered in one room,
Men of the underworld
Singing with bullets
On the laps of our building.

My friends robbed and threatened,
I died and woke up
Still hearing the lullabies of the gun singing
“Your life or your money”.

We hugged the doors,
Kissed the windows,
Blinded the seeing light
The police were afraid to come out.

Shivering and panting,
Quaking and praying
Ladies screaming silently
Our timid brave heart incarcerated in fears.

The bullets stopped singing when the night opened it’s eyes,
But we could not sleep till dawn.
We thanked and worshipped the Lord
For we narrowly escaped from death.

Lamentation

We
cry
that
our
Nation
die.

But tell me friend,
why won’t we cry
When bibles have been turned to pillows?
Why won’t our nation die
when great heroes refuse to go to shiloh
But run after shadows?

The ball is on our court,
We can decide halt
all these faults
For we are the architects of our problems.

Death Took Him Away

This is a tribute to my younger brother, who died at a very tender age. Death ceased his breath and took him away from this planet earth. It was so painful that my mum got ill and was admitted to the hospital. But what can I say? Let the will of the Lord be done.

DEATH TOOK HIM AWAY

My pen bleeds
My soul weeps
Mum is downhearted
We commemorate your untimely death.

We miss you so much
And wish we could raise you up.
We miss you more than words can say,
And wish you could reincarnate in mum’s womb.

Death is heartless,
It took you at the age of three.
Death is so callous,
It made us spend much
Yet we could not avert your death.

I still remember your sorrowful cry,
I still remember your great freight.
I still remember mum’s loud shout
When the doctor said you were short of blood.

Mum couldn’t watch you die,
She donated almost all her blood
To keep you alive.
Dad couldn’t let you die,
He paid for the hospital bills,
And the doctor gave you dozens of pills.

Prayers upon prayers
All said on your sickbed
But it seemed your head
Was already present in the land of the dead.

“He will be okay, he will be okay”,
The doctor promised us.
But in a twinkle of an eye,
“I am sorry, we tried all our best”, he said.

Mum cried her eyes out
As she fell so ill.
You were taken to where I know not,
And laid down six feet.

Am crying while writing,
Let me halt, before I get so hurt.
It’s so painful,
That death took you away at a very tender age.

The Fruit Of Wickedness

Few years ago, a man named Dickson, travelled abroad and forgot his family. Everyone abused and called him an ingrate. But after some time, he called his younger brother John to tell him that he wanted to build a very big mansion in the village.

He sent billions of dollars for the building of the mansion, but rather than resourcefully using the money, John bought fake materials and used the rest money to flirt around with harlots. He purposely did this act of wickedness inorder to punish his elder brother for not remembering them for a long time when he travelled abroad.

After the completion of the house which was built with fake materials, Dickson came home for the dedication. Surprisingly, he handed over the key of the house to John and told him that he actually built the house for him.

Alas, John fainted for he knew that all his mischiefs had backfired. Dickson returned to abroad, and few years later, John’s building collapsed and killed him.

MORAL LESSON

Be good always, love your neighbour as yourself and avoid being wicked. Remember, what ever a man soweth, that he shall reap.

The story ‘The fruit of wickedness’ was first published in OPEN DIGEST, a monthly publication of RCCG open doors assembly, area headquarters, Gbazango Extension, Kubwa, Abuja.
